We purchased our home in Bedford in September. It was built in 1974 and the American Standard boiler is original to the house and needs to be replaced. We are having issues with the household hot water (provided by the boiler) and the service tech who did the annual service was unable to sort it out. I would like to schedule a time to have someone come out and give me an estimate of what it would cost to replace the heating system. Thank you,
Johann W
Looking for a new furnace and A/C. Current units are 25+ years old. House is 1335 sq ft split level, gas furnace, humidifier and would like some kind of air cleaner to help with allergies.

There are several kinds of residential heating systems that are available, and all of these have varying degrees of efficiency. Residential heating can consume a large chunk of your energy bills, and therefore, installing an energy efficient system is absolutely essential. Furnace systems have been popular with American home owners for many decades now. These can be powered by gas, electricity or propane. If you have a gas line, you may find a gas residential heating system to be more affordable than an electric one. However, gas furnaces need regular maintenance, and also require certain precautions to be maintained to ensure operational safety. Make sure that your furnace, whatever the fuel type is kept well maintained. Clean filters regularly, and get a professional maintenance check done at least once a year. Boilers are a less expensive way to heat your home. These have relatively low operational costs. New age boilers are not only more energy efficient than before, but also reduce the amount of toxic emissions.
Boilers are an inexpensive residential heating system that also offers high energy efficiency. Newer models come with eco friendly features that reduce the number of emissions released into the environment. Boilers work by heating hot water, and then circulating the heat produced through radiators, fan coils, or convectors. Residential heat pump systems are designed to be highly energy efficient, but can lose much of this advantage because of incorrect installation and lack of maintenance. Heat can escape through ducts that are located near the door of the indoor cabinet. Make sure that these ducts are sealed to prevent energy wastage. Your refrigerant must also be charged correctly to prevent energy wastage. Get your residential heat pump serviced at least once a year to ensure maximum energy efficiency.
To ensure maximum energy efficiency, always select a residential heating system that's manufactured by a reputed company. Bryant residential HVAC and Carrier residential air conditioning are just two of the companies that manufacture high quality heating systems.
